SKILLMAN, NJ — On a beautiful, sunny June morning, Rock Brook School celebrated the graduation of two remarkable students, Matilda Oranje and Jenna Stumpf, during a festive commencement ceremony held under a beautifully decorated outdoor tent filled with balloons, banners, and personalized messages celebrating the graduates.
The morning began with remarks from Executive Director Mr. Glenn Famous, followed by a student-led Pledge of Allegiance and the graduates’ grand entrance.
Addressing graduates, families, staff, and guests, Principal Thomas Connolly reflected on the personal growth, accomplishments, and vibrant energy Matilda and Jenna brought to the Rock Brook community throughout their journeys.
“Matilda and Jenna, I have had the opportunity of watching both of you grow throughout your time at Rock Brook School, and I can say with complete sincerity that you have made this school a richer, brighter, and more joyful place simply by being in it,” Connolly shared.
Transition Coordinator Monica Wall also offered heartfelt remarks, reflecting on the graduates’ individual success and future paths.
The celebration also had an awards of achievement presentation and a special musical performance led by Music Teacher Ms. Janet Campbell, featuring the graduates alongside students from the high school and post-graduate programs.
The ceremony concluded with outdoor refreshments, congratulations, and opportunities for graduates and their families to capture special memories through photos with friends, staff, and loved ones.
Rock Brook School is a state-approved, nonprofit private school serving students ages 3 to 21 with communication impairments and multiple disabilities. Recognized as a School of Excellence by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools, the Skillman-based school currently serves 48 students representing 25 school districts across Central New Jersey.
